Lauren Nedo is no stranger to winning at Kelowna Golf & Country Club, as she claims her third consecutive title at the 41st Annual KGCC Women’s Open, held August 8 & 9.
Playing out of Swan E Set Bay, Nedo got off to a quick start in Round 1, shooting a 1-under-par 71 to take a three-shot lead over her nearest pursuer, Symone Ripley of Gallagher’s Canyon.
The course played extremely well under unfortunate smoky skies, but the conditions didn’t slow down the fantastic golf or the camaraderie throughout the event.
Nedo followed up her opening-round score with a spectacular 3-under-par 69 to secure her third consecutive championship. Coincidentally, all three of her KGCC Women’s Open victories have finished at the exact same score: 4-under par.
Overall Low Net Winner
Congratulations to Kerrylyn Richard of Shadow Ridge, who claimed the Overall Low Net title with a 6-under-par 138. She finished two shots ahead of runner-up Judy Poole, who carded a 4-under-par 140, while Yvonne Chaperon of KGCC finished just one shot further back at 3-under-par 141.
Although there were no holes-in-one this year, there were plenty of highlights — including an incredible eagle 2 on the par 4, 14th hole by KGCC’s top finisher, Rihannon Jones!
Another outstanding Kelowna Golf & Country Club performance came from Kaillie Matthews, playing in her first KGCC Women’s Open, who finished in a tie for 5th place.
The success of this tournament would not have been possible without the tremendous support of our club volunteers, led by Tournament Chair Sandra Dick. To all of the dedicated members who proudly showcased Kelowna Golf & Country Club throughout the tournament ... THANK YOU! ❤️
