A great finish in the 34th Annual Sunshine Ladies Open. Congratulations to all 85 players in the field.
Michelle Waters of Pheasant Glen edged out past champion Marli Mikulecky of the Kelowna Golf & Country Club by one shot with an impressive two round total of 148 (rounds of 73 and 75). In all great golf was played with only two shots separating the top five finishers. Two shots back of Waters was Kylie Jack, Jessica Claggett and Karen Madison all at 150.
The Overall Low Net Winner was Deborah Faurot of Gallagher's Canyon and the Low Kelowna Golf and Country Club Trophy Winner was Marilyn Hopp.

2016 Champion Madison Kapchinsky of Kelowna Springs is in a tie with Michelle Waters of Pheasant Glen Golf Club heading into the final round. Both shooting a one over par 73 in round one. Great scores were shot on Saturday with 10 players in the 70's. Right behind Kapchinsky and Waters is Kelowna Golf & Country Club's Marli Mikulecky and Shannon Lake's Rhiannon Jones shooting impressive rounds of 2 over par 74. Karen Madison of Leavenworth Golf Club and Jackie Clement of Summerland both shot 3 over par rounds of 75.
Highlights of the day include a hole in one from Rhonda Poullos and some incredible net scores making it an incredibly tight competition heading into Sunday's final round.
Deborah Faurot of Gallagher's Canyon is leading the Net category heading into Sunday's Final Round shooting a blistering 59. She holds a two shot lead over Kelowna Golf & Country Club's Marilyn Hopp who shot an opening round 61. Colleen Edstrom of Sunset Ranch and (Ace) Rhonda Poullos of the Okanagan Golf Club are poised to challenge the leaders with a good final round score.
Sunday's Final Round is an 8am shotgun start and will wrap up with a lunch and trophy presentation taking place at approx. 1:30pm. Spectators are welcome to attend so come out an enjoy some great golf and cheer on our tournament players.
