CONSISTENT SCORING GUIDES MARTIN TO VICTORY

After heading into the final round one shot back of the lead Kelowna Golf & Country Club's Keith Martin played a steady and solid round of 14 pars and 4 birdies to finish his day at 4 under par and concluded the tournament with an 8 under total to claim the 2019 Men's Open Championship. It remained a fairly close battle thru the 14th hole but when Garrett Kucher (Predator Ridge) and Jeremy Osborne (Salmon Arm) made double bogeys at the 15th and Keith made a par the picture started to become clear. Martin sealed it with birdies on 16 and 18 to finish with a 4 shot lead over Kucher

Tony Schmidt on his 65th Birthday got quite a present as he matched his age with his net score to go with a net 66 to take the Tournament's overall Net Title. His total of 13 under par was 4 shots better than his nearest competitor, Jordon Menzies of Predator Ridge.

The conditions were perfect with a bit of early morning rain to soften things up and a slight shower in the afternoon.

Thank you to all 115 players that played as well as all of our great Volunteers, Coordinators and Employees that helped to make the event a tremendous success. Thank you as well to the members of the Club for giving up their course of the two mornings on the weekend to host the event.
