Ogopogo Invitational 2019

SEVERAL LEAD CHANGES, IN THE END BULMER IS THE CHAMPION

After the first two days of unsettled weather the skies cleared and the 162 player field enjoyed a beautiful day of golf in the final round of the 68th Annual Ogopogo Invitational.

Heading into the final round today Jason Monteleone of the Kelowna Golf & CC and Nathan Ward of Summerland were both tied for the lead at 9 under par. Troy Bulmer of Predator Ridge was 4 shots back heading int the last round. Jason Monteleone got off to a fast start and birdied holes 1 and 3 to get to 11 under par but then made a double bogey at the 5th hole to cool his round off. While this was happening Troy Bulmer was quietly going about his business and carded 6 birdies in the first 11 holes to get to 11 under par while Monteleone made a few bogeys to sit at 6 under through 11 holes. Bulmer had a bit of a slip up on Hole 13 and made a double bogey and a bogey on the par 5, 16th.

In the end the lead he had built turned out to be too much for any of the others to catch and Monteleone made a birdie on the final hole to clinch 2nd outight but it was not enough to catch Bulmer who birdied the final hole to finish the tournament at 9 under par.

Kelowna Golf & Country Club's Norm Bradley finished the tournament in third place at 6 under par while Matt Palahniuk and Nathan Ward finished in a tie for fourth.

The Overall Low Net Trophy was won by Vancouver Golfl Club's, Jason Groshak. The Low Interior Amatuer trophy was secured by Jason Monteleone for his 10th time winning this category. Eight Time Champion, Doug Roxburgh won the Overall Senior Champion trophy.
